The system is fast, easy to use and inexpensive, making it one of the most widely used system on popular tents throughout the world.
How does it work?
Long steel or aluminium pins are attached to metal rings, which are connected to the base of the tent where each tent pole ends.
During pitching the pins are inserted into the hollow ends of the tent poles to create a strong and stable fastening.
The main alternative to Ring & Pin is the Pin and Grommet system, whereby the system is basically reversed. This time the end of each pole has a pin that is inserted into a grommet located on the tape at the bottom of the tent.
